WHAT WE FUND

Each Bridges for Schools grant is tailored to the self-identified needs of the school and their goals related to enrollment and family engagement. Bridges for Schools grants have supported:  

 

  • Human translation of school materials to inform and improve parent engagement in school registration, activities, high school or college preparation process, etc.

  • In-person translation at meetings and events

  • Parent engagement strategies

  • Bilingual website content, video, and audio

  • Bilingual front office staff

  • Parent Ambassador programs 

  • Representative photography (photos that capture the diversity of a school community)

  • Culturally familiar imagery and art

  • English language programs for parents

ITEMS BEYOND FUNDING SCOPE

  • Auto-translate apps

  • Computers/Tablets (e.g. iPads)

  • Food/refreshments

  • Travel or transportation

  • Tuition assistance

  • Paid advertising

  • One-off events for Hispanic Heritage Month

         (we encourage schools to host events for HHM, but it does not qualify for funding through Bridges for Schools).
